Default exhaust sealing. keep making new holes!!!!!!!!

well its not a hole its a leak, i now have a new back box on my car, was made to fit as has a 3" tail pipe and a stainless cat back. but on the seal between the centre pipe and the rear box a small leak keeps breaking through the seelant, i been using fire gum to seal it and have had it apart and together about 5 times. just so annoying as i can hear it fizzing when i pass parked cars or buildings.
not loud just can hear it and MOT soon.

i have sealed the inside then put the clamp real hard, but still finds a way to leak out of the same dam bit!!!!!

can i please have some advice or shall i use a better seelant? thanks for your help.

Can you not use a proper gasket between the two faces instead of sealant!!!?

centre pipe and rear box, there is no gasket that goes there the gasket goes on the manifolds to head or the cat to centre pipe.

thing is tho with anything like chemical metal, it will work, but you will never get the thing off again!!! It should be a pretty tight fit with no sealant on it anyway. If it isnt, then as v6edc says, get a bit of exhaust wrap to put round the smaller pipe to beef it up a bit, then plenty of paste, nice and tight on the exhaust clamp, and that thould have it sealed up good
