You have to purchase a 'Go Racing' pack then book onto an ARDS course to sit the tests, there's a written and practical.
When you do the practical you just have to prove to the instructor that in a 'race' situation you wouldn't be a liability on the track. It's probably worth doing it at a circuit that your familiar with as you only get to do about 3 laps (well that's all I did), first one was under instruction then your on your own for the rest. It costs around Ł350.

I absolutely adore this car, Old School fords rock I remember watching the thread when this car was being built and I was amazed by the amount of work that has gone into it. We saw it peddling round at Ford Fair last year, personally I'd shit myself everytime I took it on track incase anything happened to it so fair play to you for actually having the guts to use it properly
