mountune wrc head gasket v's group'a' gasket ?

Not that long ago,most big bhp people were using studded blocks ,
and grp A or the equivalent head gaskets.
Now it seems that you can only use a mountie gasket,not even a
co*etic one will do?
Is it still feasible to use a grpA gasket in this setup,or is it not worth the grief?
