Default Tractor Pulling

Went down to the Tractor Pulling on Saturday Night at Great Eccleston as my Old mans building firm was sponsoring the event and had a really good night. There was a few different groups with different criterias ranging from 500bhp upto and beyond 8000bhp!

The pits were open and was a really good night, the pics taken later on didnt come out very well as I didnt have my proper camera with me.

Awesome Firestone teams machine well over 7000bhp!!

Unfortunately on Sunday the driver of this machine died the Dutch bloke in the middle. When I was there they were having problems with the sledge sometimes not sliding down as it should and would come to an abrupt stop sending the 100ton weight to the end with some force of which it did to this machine on Sunday. I have mixed feelings about this and will await the verdict of the enquiry before passing comment but RIP!

Last pic, tripple turbine powered machine, very very loud and powerfull!

Yeah the sledge wasnt working as it should so the weight went through the back of his cage and crushed him, took the fire team an hour and a half to get him out!

i went there a few years ago, anyone into huge horse power needs to see a tractor even, the diesel engines are also mega,

even from an engineering point of view, 8 V8 motors bolted together at 1000hp each all supercharged, merlin engines, meteor engines, helicopter engines and jet motors the sight at night is awsome and the noise deafaning

The V8's are hitting between 1600-2000 bhp now mate, absolutely incredible!

There was a 3000bhp diesel monstor there that was using the same block and gearbox that it left the factory with when it was only 150bhp!!!!

Also engines that were very impressive was the huge rotary engines that had been extracted from tanks!

I went yesterday, never been to a tractor pull before,
Some absolute insane engines. Never seen anything like it.

I saw the dutch tractor at the end though. Very horrifying.
A sad day indeed.

RIP.
