suppose its the spec of the loom that bumps the money up.

i don't think they are Ł500 for a standard loom though.

go to fords and buy a cossie engine,,,, go to fords and buy a intercooler, wheel bearing/head gasket ect

they a rip off company who sell parts based on there sales,,,, they want people to buy a car they sell the parts cheep, the car gets too old and they want em to sell the car and buy a NEW car they sell them parts for MORE money to help people decide what car they wanna buy

same in the aftermarket with parts though it works in reverse,,,,, did you know a group A cossie head gasket costs less than 2 quid to make once you got the machines done,,,,, infact most gaskets cost less than 5 quid including the flash ones you lot buy for 200 quid

they sell em based on what will people buy em for,,, a bloke with a E reg 1.3 astra wont pay 90 quid for a head gasket set

but a bloke with a clio 172 will

so they sell for what they can get and fords the same

now with this taken into account,,, i wont pay for stuff i can do if i took the time to do it

500 quid for a loom made by a 1 man band,,, sorry but fuck that,, he makes it wrong and your car frys ,,, what you think hes gonna do ?

big company like for will HAVE to sort it out

this is the reason why i also dont trust garages aswell,,,,,, as i deal with the fucking thick cunt who cant even tell if there car has ABS there working on

thats why your my new technical man dave

fords loom is made by engineers who know every aspect of the car the wires are used for with all the loadings ect

all clips and rubbers are genuine ect and made by them

ryans are good quality and hes a top chappy who not as qualified in the vehicles as the guy who designed the fords loom

call up fords tech department and ask them ANYTHING about the loom,, they will know exactly what it is

oh and a ENTIRE car loom from ford for there KA is 800 quid,,,, they sub looms are generally around 200 quid for stuff making ryans MORE than fords looms

entire loom for the back doors of a transit so it just clips in and removes the old one is 70 quid and theres alot of stuff on it

i could just repair the one i have i suppose, the only dodgy bits are the injector wires, a couple are bare right near the plugs where they've had tests done on them previously i guess

thats down to fords usual " sell the parts for alot and the person will wanna sell the car and buy a new one" scheme

tis the reason why i gone off fords if im honest

ive sold a KA loom as the bloke cut the rear light connections and had to buy a entire loom and that was 800 quid

there was alot to it too and it was pretty heavy

personally speaking from my perspective Ryan obviously took a great deal of time over my loom it was covered in Pectel quality braid, every connection was labelled and clearly defined, its just the right lengths without being excessive.

I'm genuinely pleased, the quality is great and it has all my extras taken into consideration
If I brought a new loom from Fords and then chopped it up to put in all the extra features that Ryan has for my specific requirements it would end up ad bad as the one I took out..

Well worth the money imho

Think that guestimate came from me mine I think cost me Ł425 fitted but I would have thought that they would have gone up from then

What can I say its a dam good loom and I doubt I could have had one from ford, modified for my specific requirements and fitted to my car for less

Its also worth noting that the moment the ford loom was modified to suit my requirements the warentee could be declared invalid

ryans looms ARE quality,, but telling people there 500 quid is just gonna scare them off

i got no issue with ryan or hes looms and when i worked at fords i gave 2 people hes number to see if he could sort out looms when ford never done em ( though dont know the outcome i must admit)

rich ill be fucked if im gonna seach the site to prove it,, i know i bought them from there and they had a funny name

either that or another company as i bought LOADS of shite for the cossie from lots of places,,,, and ive not bothered to think about it as its a little bit of a sore subject to me

but the connectors are available !!!

In all defence, I paid pretty much near the 400 - 500 quid I suggested for mine (Ł425 when checked)... This was purchased and fitted by my tuner who was doing a great deal of work on my car at this time. I never actually obtained it from Ryan direct and still have no knowledge of the definitive price charged for a loom built to the specifications of mine.
I personally think it says a great deal that I consider this loom to be of such quality that I am still exceptionally happy with the price I have paid, the quality of the loom and the manner in which it was fitted to the car.

top quality product !! at any price

sure they are available, I've bought them many times, but it won't be from Farnell... next time before you tell me to fuck off, please get your facts right.

This is why I won't get involved in making engine looms. There is a lot of time and effort and cost that goes into making them and no fucker appreciates it and thinks you're too dear.

Absolutely agree! the people who think it's expensive have no idea of how much time it takes, not to mention sourcing some of the parts and the minimum order quantities involved, proper tooling etc.
The difference between sticking a few connectors on wires with a pair of pliers and insulating tape is a far cry from building decent quality RELIABLE looms.
