Default Adaptors for car kits? (mobile phone)

To the best of my knowledge car kits like this:

Are entirely analogue, ie two of the pins are voice in and 2 are voice out, in the same format as a set of normal headphones.

So therefore any phone that has a normal mic/headphone output on it could be connected to this kit simply by conencting together the appropriate pins.

anyone know if any commerically available adaptors exist?

Ive got one of these kits in my audi and it works REALLY well, totally happy with it, but would like to use a phone a bit more modern than a 7110 on it

is it a generic hands free kit or a branded one?
can you not just change the cradle over to one that matches your phone?

failing that, just buy an older phone for that retro look

Just get a Parrot kit as you'll not need to changed it again for years and can pair it with any new phones you may get

Cheers for the tip, gutting that it doesnt have the mic as a 3.5mm jack as well as the headphone!

Have found the pinouts for the car kit.

Looks like pins 3 and 5 for the mic and speaker, with 4 as a common ground.
