Default different chatter ??

i know where chatter comes from air rushing back through the blades, but my question is what makes different pitch/sound of chatter. Tried a few different setups on my EFI escort. Some give it high pitch some give it long loud low pitch

any ideas, i know alex ZVH is chatter box he looks to have a metal pipe leading to the filter with no bends etc, but he does certainly get some loud chatter!

the best on mine i have found is a curved silicone pipe leading to a filter.

Why would you want to make the annoying noises LOUDER?

LOL

I should think a metal pipe from the turbo straight to a air filter, with nothing at all in between them, is the way to go (ie no metering unit or anything)

thats what i was thinking, a mate dropped a 2.5 inch metal pipe. I have that joined to the turbo then to a small air filter. This changed the chatter to a low pitched noise, sounded well but not the loud high pitched that i have with the crap silicone hose

this was the one i have just tried

2.5 inch pipe small air filter

gave a more of what a toyota supra chatter sounds like if you get me not very high pitched but nice

this one is more like 3 inch pipe and a big cossie air filter again 3 inch trumpet. This was not chatter at all, more of a flutter but very loud and seamed to go on for ages

just tried this one and it was pants! not loud and no chatter at all just gay fluttering

this is the best i have found

small bend going into an old made up filter with big to small steal pipe

this gives off nice chatter so is it the curve or filter style that does it

Then why don't you shorten the one that makes the good noise or stop being a tart and leave it as it was

i dont want to shorten the pipe in case it goes wrong, then its in bits

if i know it will work then i can make something up proper

just being greedy, at 11 PSI the chatter my current setup uses is quite good i think, maybe i am just lacking some boost

i guess the bend must echo the sound, acting almost as an amplifier, and the silicone will keep the sound, as metal will vibrate to the sound, almost damping it... so that must be it... the cone on the end will possibly help amplifying it aswell...

why not try putting the air filter into an acoustic guitar?? that seems to apmlify things

its not how much boost you have, its what you do with it that counts
