hot oil is thinner so its quicker to drain out and u get more out
cold oil is thicker so less will drain out and will take longer
always carry out an oil change with hot/warm oil
oh and just smack a smaller socket onto the sump plug
job done

A good pair of self grips shpuld take it off if the head is rounded to much to get a smaller socket hammered on mate.
If that fails the next best option is to weld a bigger nut onto the existing nut of the plug, this works every time mate
Would hold off on doing that though until you have a new sump plug as looks rather unsightly seeing a plug with a huge nut welded onto it being reused !!!!
