Default Upper back pain

next to the spine at the back of the rib cage.

Suffering badly with this after moving a load of old telegrath poles around setting a car park out.

Any hints or tips as to best shift it ?

Did the usual painkillers, rest and then normal movement as such but is still agony

Weed can be used but it makes you brain dead! I would seriously go and see someone, and from past experience, it can be sorted quickly.

Maybe some Deep heat could help? Or one of those Chinese Remedy places could help?

Weed aint for me mate and that deep heat stuff is deadly

Will see if any of these Chinese shops are open tomorrow (bank holiday) think one of them also offers physio type help in town.

Had lower pains before and know how to deal with them but this is a different ball game

Ahh yes lower back is a different kettle all together! I usually do plenty of stretching exercises but with a broken rib it might be a bit of a pain to get around!

Maybe worth a Doctors appointment?

I'll stretch all night as long as its left arm down but dont ask me to go the other way

My old man was slagging the fuck out of me as im driving with my arm on the centre consol and all my weight on it.

Hate going to the docs, full of junky scum waiting on meths.

Going to see what I can get done tomorrow, just been told of a very good guy north of me who is retired but does stuff from home in aid of charity, would rather try and see someone like him or the chinese place.

a trip to the doc is in order here mate, the one thing you don't want to be doing is knackering your back and still lifting stuff with it

sounds more than just a simple sprain to one of the muscles and the broken rib might also be a factor, thing is, with broken ribs you can't do anything to get them fixed in a hurry either

If you have strained your THOROCOLUMBAR FASCIA region you are in trouble, this is the major region that holds all the major back muscles together.
Get to see a back specialist today/asap if you can, it is a very hard muscle/group to rest as it supports 90% of your bodies activities.
I would phone MARCUS WEBB, he has some clinics in SCOTTYLAND too, his number is 020 8441 8352.

sounds to me like your troubles are exactly the same as mine
mine is caused by the broken vertebrae that were fused back together again (i think i've got an xray somewehre) and limit the movement

i think you've probably over done it with the caber carrying lark and now the muscles that are in agony are being helped by the other muscles in the area, but because they are getting used far beyond their normal capacities, they are also struggling which is causing you more pain

a few tests that iwas told to do when this sort of pian accoured was to stand up straight, feet together and then bend forwards as if trying to touchmy toes, but not actually making the effort, just letting the body hang there and natuarlly stretch out
you "should" feel the stretch in the back of your neck and in your hamstrigns, anywhere else in your back means it's something in there so at least you can localise the area of pain

obviously if your rib is the limiting factor in this then don't do it, but you'll need rest for a few days at least

for some home cure attempts, stand in the shower for a while with the jet on hot on the painful area, and also adjust the way you sleep, if you have, i've found that putting a doubled up duvet on the mattress and laying on that tends to reduce the pain as it lets your body relax a bit more than it would on a normal mattress that's a lot firmer

if the pains not abated much by tomorrow then i'd be making my way to the docrots to get myself looked at properly, the pain killers you are taking just mask the pain, if you've torn a muscle it may take a long time to heal properly
