Default help...

a mates brother crashed into my car on saturday... completely wrote off the nearside front wing and the door... he cant drive (got his test on saturday), and was just moving his car out of the garage and is uninsured... its only a 106... but i need it sorting... it looks awful... im the type of person that gets things done properly... but he wants to do it on the cheap... his last attempt at rat-canning looked awful... realy streaky and flat...

any help? its looking to be £100 to get the wing done, if i provide a wing, thats without fitting or a straight door... he did say he couldnt afford much more than £100... need some advice... can get pictures up later if needs be...

oh yeh... his parents dont know about it yet... so its unlikely to get done through home insurance... he's only 17 and in a part time job... plus if it eventually went through the insurance it would be 50/50 that my car was written off... so reluctant to go through it tbh...

so he crashed into your car and he's now saying that he wont/cant pay more than £100.00.

Tough!! he shouldnt have been driving the car at all without insurance, i would say either he coughs up the money for a half decent repair otherwise tell him you will be reporting him to the police or shopping him to his parents!!

Get a couple of quotes to get a decent (to a standard you would be happy with - not a back street garage) repair done and tell the little punk to cough up...........if he can't cough up then go then 'invite' him to let his parents he needs bailing out of the shit!!!

If they won't bail him out then remind the little bastard that if you report him to the police he'll get points for driving with no licence AND being uninsured and he'll have that lovely little provisional licence (or maybe full one if he passes) of his revoked and it'll be 5 years before he'll be able to insure a little shitbox car again (insurance companies come down VERY hard on people previously convicted for no insurance and he'll have to declare them for the full 5 years) so it's REALLY in his best interest to not get the police and insurance involved.

So the choice is his........he sorts it, his parents sort it, or you let the police sort it and he gets right royally fucked over!!! Either way you are owed a proper and full repair on your car!

He smashed ya car so he pays whether it be an expensive job or average job, makes good of what was there to the same standard.

If he cant afford it then he can pay you what he has now and some more each week. Or sub of his folks other wise he will be getting a far bigger bill from Her Majestys Courts.

Accident may be but at least take the responsibilty of your actions..

get a written quote from a decent garage, not a main dealer as that will be a ridiculous amount.

once you have the written quote show your "mate" and either charge him the whole lot or come to some sort of compromise.
