Default Removing Blue hylamar (gasket sealant) from block/sump

on my third attemp at doing the sump gasket with the engine in the car... bloody cvhs and just want to know if anyone has any tips/tricks for removing gasket sealant from the block / sump

I just use a scraper.
Hylomar is not very good, try LOCTITE 5910 or 5900, never had a leak but expensive stuff, unlike HYlomar it is HIGH MODULOUS though.

thanks for the tip tabetha, I'm affixing this one with tigerseal... as i've been having some real problems at the gearbox end...

and it seems I'll resign to using a stanley blade, i was hoping for some magical cure...

as above use a stanley blade, i normally spray glue the gasket to the sump leave it for 24hrs so it sets then fit the sump, when u go to offer the sump up gently slide the back right corner into position first then the rest of the sump will just slide into place
