Default pissed of just bought a compressor

bought this air compressor off ebay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...3589&rd=1&rd=1

i have a 50L airmate one at the min but its not bad does most jobs but as im using DA and want to use the compressor more often saw this a thought 125L that will suffice what i want!

went and collected it i thought it looked small just a tad bigger than mine but thought it must be my eyes when i got home its only about 2 inch bigger than mine there is a plate on the side which i can hardly read but looks like there is a number 80 there so i think its a 80L
so now only thing i can do is join my 2 up making 130L tank when originally i was going to join them to make 175L

Everybody who buys a compressor is obsessed with tank size but it is not as important as the size of the pump and motor. If you are painting or using a DA your stored air ie a big tank will not last 2 minutes if the pump that is filling the tank is not making enough air.If you decide to buy a bigger comp mate try to buy as bigger pump/motor combination you can.If you can afford it avoid direct drive machines and try to stretch to a belt driven compressor they are usually quieter and more reliable

Doesnt look anthing like 125 litres TBH mate, surprised you got confused, but fucking hell what a bargain at the price you paid, I wouldnt be annoyed at that if I were you!

As above, tank size isnt the most important thing, it just means it cuts in and out less often, it doesnt change what tools you can use like the pump rating does.

Go for motor size mate 3hp been the best for single phase power. You can get 3.5hp or even 4hp motors on single phase but they struggle to run sometimes if you have a shite power supply as lots of garages tend to do

If you can afford it go for a hydrovane compressor. Really quiet and are reiable, but are very expensive.
