Default Any Renault techies here?

Was just wondering if anyone on here has experience with the Renault Grand Screnic.

The problem we are having is when driving, the dash switches off and then resets itself. Everything is reset apart from the mileometer.

Also when starting the car, there is a horrible rattle occasionally, and other times the car will just stall straight away.

Anyone got any ideas? Ideally this needs to go back to Renault to look at but the GF can't afford to go without a suitable car for her disable child,

Thanks

Andy

We've had trouble with the ones that we've got on fleet at work, and one fella I know has had his scenic in at Renault 3 times in the last 2 months.

If she phones Renault UK they should sort her out with a suitable replacement car if hers is under warrenty.

Thanks both of you..

It is a Petrol version of the Grand scenic..

Old Skool - They will only offer a clio but this isn't suitable for the disabled child for wheelchair etc.. so trying to find another way round at the moment.

We have had the car cut out whilst driving before a few times but luckily that has stopped happening.. Not very nice when it happens ona roundabout.

Thanks again

Andy

The rattle when starting is possibly a Faulty Dephaser Unit, And the Dash could be the UPC or the dash unit itself, Which is expensive to repalce. i would suggest if the car has Full service history, Has Reasonable miles and your other 1/2 has owned it for a while you get it looked at by a dealers then get dealers to call Renault Customer Services on 0800 072 3372

Thanks FastKa..

The car has a warrenty on it so all repairs are covered. They just want the car for a week and we can't afford for the loss of car for that long.

Cheers

yes as said petrol cars suffered from dephaser faults it takes about 2.5 hours to replace them inc replacement of timing belt. it is covered by warranty the dash is a bit more complicated it could be a number of things
