hello guys..

right, heres the crack.. i've been saving a while to buy a S2 turbo engine to put into my currently standard 1.4 escort.

The idea is to get a standard turbo engine soon and rebuild it completely over a few months.. I just want some ideas as to what you people in the know would do to a turbo engine with about 5K to spend on it.
I dont want to spend every penny on go faster bits as i want it to be a mixture of reliabilty and power.

any help and ideas r appreciated.

Don't start with a RST CVH ! - Use a 16v zetec head and block for a low compression rebuild then use aftermarket management to run it with a say a stage 2 t3 hybrid turbo. Then do the various power mods to that as and when you can afford to finance them. IMHO anyway

 

whats wrong with the rst cvh??

io was gonna go for this engine as mine is already a cvh and it would save messing about with diferent mounts.

 

5k?? why not buy a properly sorted S2 to start with?

 

Jus fuck your 1.4 off & get you a fully restored/reworked S2 or even S1 ('ard as fuck).

i haven't long bought this car.. plus it doesn't look like a 1.4.. if you check the link at the bottom of the post..
plus i would rather keep this car.. its just been dry stored for 4 years with only 40k on the clock. i wont find a car as mint as this around here.. its just crying out for a proper engine.

 

Why not actually fit an RS2000 engine to match the badge on the back?

 

I want an RS2000 all of a sudden.....

 

2000 engine would be too much hassle.. and i couldnt insure it..

The badge has come off now, just says Escort RS

 

try to find a high speccing S2 thats damaged or rottern.
if your going to do a turbo transplant, its so much easier when you have a complete car, you then know you have everything you need.
fair play for keeping your shell if its solid
thats a good base to start from.
