Yes, but he wanted 'CHEAP' and the B&M certainly isn't that.

jonesymk2 Yes. In the pic toward the bottom you can see a thick shiny metal plate that fits in. The gearlever also gets extended and pinned moving the fulcrum giving the effect of a quick-shift.
As a budget item it is very good...maybe not as good as the B&M (altho I don't have personal experience of those, but by all accounts is excellent). I do however have experience of the RD item and it is very good and does the job well. A lot more positive feel and more precise shift.

How "Expensive" is the B+M version and could I still use my shiny Pumas knob [fnar] on it?

JMC item is Ł140..but I think that's been discussed before in the RST forum and someone tied it and don't think they got it for that...but might be worth you giving it another try.

Think APT (and others) price is around the Ł160-Ł180 mark

Beat to it. Must have been last years prices I was going from. I know you had to put up the price recently.

Gearboxman does them for Ł165 http://www.gearboxman.co.uk/psbmshifter.html

The UK price has taken a hike recently, due to low demand for this kit. Luckily B&M haven't discontinued it yet.

We get proper dealer prices and Ł140 is far less than we pay for it. Though that JMC price is plus VAT and delivery. Even still, that must be a very old price and if they will still honour it, then
