Default f**kers... court sumons for that speeding incident *RESULT*

well, got a court summons for that speeding incident where i didnt hear anything for over 6 months after sending off the NIP, so thought id got away with it...

nope, got a letter that says it was printed ont he 30/4/07 - 3 days before the 6 months was up, but i only seen it last week.

anyway, gonna plead guilty by post as the date is that of the TOTB qualifying and i know where id rather be

i have to fill out the mitigating circumstances bit, so what do i put?

summut like this?

I am a staff writer/journalist for Fast Ford magazine, I need to drive for my job and if I cannot drive, I cannot work and will get the sack.
My only defence is that I did not know the area I was driving in, and the fact that the 30mph speed limit sign was 100 yards further down the road from the camera van – but I am not disputing this fact that your all robbing, money-grabbing cunts.

please dont ban me as im lazy and dont like to walk when i can drive, and dont make the fine too big either as im poor.

you think that will be ok?

Dan,
I would take some PROPER legal advice, and note the date of the post mark, as it is really easy to change the date on a letter. I could write one now and date it the same date as the one you received!

I just think that you "might" have grounds to have it over-turned from the time issue. I certainly think it is worth a phone call to someone that understands these things better....

get some legal advice man, i'm pretty sure you could do the damn cunts.

my dad has gotten away with 3 parking incidents due to him knowing somebody who deals with this sort of thing. One fine that was issued that seemed impossible to appeal on, this guy appealed against it on an input error in that the time on the fine did not match the time on the camera. This was out only by a few seconds and they can't do anything about it. So they scrapped the fine!

So yeah, get some legal advice and do them over mate, they deserve it! Don't let them have the satisfaction of convicting you of a speeding fine and especially with the letter thing. GIVE THEM HELL!!

need to get this sent off today, anyone got any half decent responses?

should you try and make them feel sorry for you, or will they just think 'what a cunt, lock him up for 10 years' etc

this is what i got at the mo lol

Firstly I would like to apologise for not attending court today, but I am away with work and could not reschedule to a later date.
I am a staff writer/journalist for Fast Ford, the UK’s biggest and best-selling Ford tuning magazine and my job means that I have to travel all over the UK attending photo shoots and shows etc – so if I cannot drive, I cannot work and will lose my job.
My only defence is that I do not know the area that I was driving in and that a driving ban would have serious consequences on my career and make my home life difficult as my wife will shortly be giving birth to our first child.
I acknowledge that my actions could have had a great effect in the event of an accident, and for that, I am sorry.

what you reckon?

They will simply say that you should have been driving even more carefully due to not knowing the area IMHO. I do not agree with it, but I know what {insert expletitive here} they can be.

I wouldn't mention Fast Ford, they may view 'Fast' in the wrong way.

Just put..... "I am a staff writer/journalist for the UK’s biggest and best-selling Ford tuning magazine" or "I am a staff writer/journalist for one of the UK’s biggest and best-selling car tuning magazines"

Personally I wouldn't bring the name of the magazine into it either. Just say you work as a journalist for a large automotive magazine, and don't mention that it's FAST FORD or a TUNING magazine either

Dan, can you lose the word "Fast" ?

I'm thinking it's not a good word to use in this context - maybe say: "the leading Ford owners magazine"....

Also "tuning" - maybe change it to "owners" - for the same reason.

Finally:

Get a pic of the area: where the camera was, and where the previous speed limit sign was, and where the next speed limit sign was, draw a map too. If you did 30 in a 40 and got spanked, it's their mistake, not yours.

Besides, autobans are over 96, and more than 30 over the posted limit.

Maybe Ł150-Ł200. I don't really know.

I have heard people say, that as a rule of thumb... allow for Ł10 for every 1mph over the limit if you don't fall into the category of 3 points and a Ł60 fine.

I have written a few fantastic letters when I got done and got away with it. Then again I do start my letter with 'As a blue badge holder and a respected member of the disabled persons comunity'.... And then fill them with a load of shit. Mind if I have a go at writing you a letter?

There's a different ruling for company owned vehicles and I don't think the 6 month time limit applies, especially if they sent it to Future first
