Drill the hole out to 7mm or cut the whole end off with a stanley knife.

What would be the effect if I forgot to do mine and left them standard?

larger injectors dont have a fittin' kit,so u adapt the smaller kit to fit...drill the cap ends out to allow a greater flow of fuel and still have a snugg fit...

The caps come with the fitting kit - the modified cap is used to ensure correct fitment into Cosworth fuel rails. These aren't 'Cosworth' OE injectors... hence why they need a fititng kit (but you probably knew that)

Caps are modified on 400's too.

It makes the spray pattern/fuel delivery 'right' for the Cosworth application - you should really ask whoever supplied/wrote your chip for the definitive answer as to what to do with your caps.
