Disregarding the fitting in beams issue, Can you just stick a 2wd diff onto a 4x4 car, as the ratios are identical at 3.62:1 are they not?
, what else would have to be changed? Shafts and stb shafts and rear prop section?
Just wondering if it is worth going 7.5" on the back of my escort as there seems to be more choice for upgrades, or are there decent upgrades around for the 7" jobbie?? Was thinking of a ZF plated or gripper

7.5" 2wd cossie beam, shafts, hubs etc all fits straight in.....just stick your vented Escos discs and calipers on.....
Good upgrade,7.5 diffs are stronger and the shafts are bigger...

you just need to get rid of about half an inch worth of diff case wehre the bolt goes through and swap the diff, shafts and stub axles into your beam and away you go
FYI, there IS a difference, the 2wd is actually 3.64
. However, the difference is so small that it won't cause any problems, so it is a common upgrade to fit the 7.5 diff, but not because the diffs are any stonger, but because of the huge improvement in the CV joint's strength on the drive shafts, due to their meatier size

Worked nicely on my 470bhp car. Saves all the above hassle, just bolts in where yours came from.
You can also sell your old one on, or keep it for spares if you wanted.
Link for it will be in Parts for Sale later this eve.

Marco Mullet 7" Cos 4*4 Rear Diff Spec
3.62 Ratio, fully serviced
1 x New pinion seal
1 x Collapsible Space (fook knows what that is
)
1 x 7" Modified and shot peened gears
1 x 7" VC reset to 120NM
Cost me over £600, and I supplied my original diff. Basically for you or anyone else thinking about it, you can sell your original diff for £150 or whatever they're worth, and put it towards the cost of a decent one.
I'd be open to very sensible offers, but if none are forthcoming, it will be on Ebay later tonight (once I get back from a Car Auction)
Also got a "Mulleted" front diff to go to!
