The Pectel board can add memory and functions to the ECU enabling such as anti-lag etc. but also primarily as a means of decrypting encrypted maps on the chip (to prevent copying). Certain tuners use Pectel boards (e.g. Ahmed Bayjoo), whereas some others do not (Stu@MSD for example)

AFAIK, Stu has his own encryption methods, but he can do stuff with Pectel spec' chips.

The Pectel boards add nothing to an ecu other than a method of encrypting the chip so it is pointless copying it.

When adding one to a L6 you have what we call Level 600. This is kind of an in between L6 and 8.

We use a FAR more modern encryption board, but can encrypt our software to run on a pectel board if we absolutely have to. Although our L8 Anti lag and Launch control software cannot be encrypted to run with Pectel and requires a genuine weber board.

Can a pectel board be swapped between L6 and L8.
