Be interesting to see if you fall foul of the Ł19 scam...

I had a log book go 'missing' with DVLA a couple of months back and I had to pay Ł19 to get a copy...

They gave me all the usual flannel about registered post etc etc but I have never in 20 years of car ownership ever had one go missing.

But it got me thinking... if they accidentally 'lost' a percentage of logbooks out of the thousands they must process every week then there would be a tidy little profit with everyone having to pay Ł19 for a copy.

Lets say they 'misplaced' 50 a week, not many in the grand scheme of things but its Ł50,000 a year in the governments coffers... and thats working on 10% of 1000 logbooks a week

With 23,000,000 cars in the UK then thats an 'acceptable' level of error

Yet another stealth tax.....

Fucking great. Selling my car on ebay but had to transfer it to my name from the missus as the insurance would be void. Sent it last week and hoped it would be back for friday. Gonna have to pull the auction aren't i? Or will buyer be willing for me to send it off when i get it back? I doubt it!

You can find out when a V5 was last issued from the net, then you can see how long you have to wait until it arrives.

unfortunatly I can't find the link...
