you find me a t5 Volvo with the same standard power output as the focus

think you ll find that the focus has 221 bhp, the Volvo t5's were 2.3 and 2.5, with a bit more power depending on the spec (the R versions)

I'm sure, one of the volvo's has an output of around 270.

Was told this is the engine and gearbox fitted to the ST.

The ST has been limited due to driveshaft probs.
This is third hand info, so may not be 100%

The focus ST can be remapped without lifting the bonnet to 260-270 bhp.

I hope mine will be done very soon.

Its a good car, not cossie quick but refined, fuel efficient and new

Hell thats pretty good.

Our Demo ST does 19-24 mpg.

Been in a few chipped ones, they respond quite well.
Was told that with certain warranty claims, ford request the ECU too??

Again not sure how true this is.
Probably just shock tactics, and i'm talking poo

Yeah, I know, watch a guy the other week do one in our garage.
Like I said, not 100% about it, although a pcm is not much different in some ways to a home pc, can they not exctract previous history.

Heard that land rover do the same with the tdv6 gear box claims.
Again only a rumour, but worth thinking about.

if you have the dreamscience remap like me, when it goes in for service/warranty work, you reflash it back to the std program and it leave NO trace of itself , (unlike the superchips blufin one... ) it even clears the fault codes that show it has even been up/downloaded.... and JUST with the chip you get this.... and its pretty awesome....

my lil baby..

i agree, i went out in one when they first came out and was not very impressed with the power at all.. to average boring felt abit like a n/a with abit of a turbo.. anyway if your gona go down the focus route get the frs as they will hold there value , i see the st going down in price..ford have just blown it at the mo with no focus cosworth and front wheel drive frs, peeps want the real deal constant 4wheel drive and 300 ish power thats why alot of rs peeps have moved on to evo,s..

Ford wanted to ST to sell well , hence why its no 4wd 300bhp rally shlag and doesn't need servicing every other month , you could happily spend all day driving the ST could you honestly say the same in a FRS or an EVO ?
