Default car engines v bike engines

hi guys and gals

Say you raced a 1000cc standard mini against a mini with a 1000cc bike engine, the bike engine would be so much quicker?

How do bike engines get so much power from either 1 or 2 cylinders, and how can they rev to 9k+, and car engines can't??

Just been watching a few bike engined car vids on youtube, so what is it that makes them so much quicker?

Why doesn't a similar cc'd car engine go like a bike engine??

Thanks in advance

Rich

a 1000cc bike engine is likely to be a 4 cylinder not 1 or 2 except v twins

Bikes have big bore short stroke engines which rev really well technically you would get nearly twice the speed in every gear with a bike engine compared to a car engine (same gearing)

Bike engines are designed to rev like fuck, and as a result have minimal torque lower down and if used hard (like they would be towing a car around not a bike) they wont last long.

Its like the reason that a 3.0 formula 1 engine makes 900bhp and a 3.0 ford engine makes 200bhp.

If the engine is revving at twice the RPM then in theory it will produce twice the power as there a twice as many firing strokes within the same time frame.

My integra type-r revs to 9000rpm as standard, when it back together it ill rev to 10,000rpm. Its not all car engines that dont rev its just shonky fords
