Default Any ford technicians,need help.

My 2007 transit has a 70mph limiter that was factory fitted as far as i know. Can it be removed by someone who can do re-maps? it also has a digital tachograph fitted, but this is never used.
Not having the ability to get past most of the cunts that fuck about at 70 mph is beginning to get to me now,and i'm getting wound up more and more. I'm talking about the cunts that you pull out to overtake, get alongside, and then they put their foot down, thus hanging you out to dry in lane 3. <(tears of complete frustration!)

is this the post your talking about

if it is then im afraid to say i dont know the answer and doubt any ford person will as tacho motors aint designed to me messed with or we aint told about it

the best advice i could give is have you tried shaking the steering wheel and shouting " COME OONNNNNNNN, FAASSSSSSSSSSTTTTTTERRRRRRRRRRRR"

thats what i do when i drive the transits at work when i wanna go over 100mph up hill

i cant even ask either as i no longer work at fords

This is the one ginge. Shame you don't work there anymore.
It's going the dealers tomorrow for a brake issue,so i will ask about what filthyritchie said.
I may need a new steering wheel soon,as it's starting to distort where i have been gripping it so hard in pure frustration!!!!!!!!!

Yes,
I will have a look for the law but basically if the vehicle's fitted with a tacho then it must be used.
We have Transit's at our place that are 3.5t gross that have the digi's

The tacho is not used because i am not over 3500 kg gtw when towing. if i was over 3300 kg without a trailer, then i would be overloaded so would be fooked anyway.
But as my van has a potential gtw of 5500 kg,then it must have a tacho fitted.

My van's been in the dealers today for a brake problem, needs fluid changing due to getting air in system,a common fault apparently.
They said they could take the limiter off with the ids,Ł94 for the privelage though. Is ids a dealer only system,or do independant garages have them?
I will pay for it myself, just wondering if i can get it done cheaper else where.

You are fucking joking me?! try phoning a different dealer.

IDS is the dealer only diagnosic computer, that said they do appaear on ebay from time to time, at about Ł2.5k though.

Just a little update on this. Van has been on ids and limiter cannot be removed, the guy had 6 attempts,no joy. Even the mapping experts can't help,as it's too new.
Also had a problem with poor brakes from day 1. Been into local dealer who said brake fluid needed changing as it was a common fault, still no different.
been into another dealer today, problem sorted.
Apparently, you cannot bleed brakes properly unless it's on ids,as it pulses the solenoids, and even tells you which corner to bleed, and for how long
Glad i don't have pay the bills,as the cheapest price i could find for putting it on ids was Ł73
