How did we get onto Scoobies? May I remind you Andy Forresters Scooby is quite a bit faster than any Cossie at the moment and I'm sure he wouldn't agree . You come across as being quite knowledgeable at times, but those blinkers dont half hold you back

As for the topic, an RST is the perfect car to start playing around with, simple engine and easy to understand/modify if you do your homework.

Hands together as we speak!

I was so pleased with yesterdays work that I fitted a rear strut brace this morning as a hangover cure! Hard bit was cutting the fookin carpet!!

Couple of pics as promised!

Not sure about tackling the next ones on my own!

have never paid anyone to do anything, converted the engine on my sierra from another car, only thing original was the gear box, even still I had that off several times

future diy plans? well if I get a ban from speeding, ill be dropping the engine out of the audi, changing the cam belt and fitting bigger turbo's and ICs

i definately fall into the "destroy it yourself" category.

i did not have the mechanical competence to maintain a car to a decent standard, and i ran cars into the ground by trying.

it could have gone 2 ways, 1) i got better at it 2) i gave up

i gave up...

i now have huge credit card bills, but i know that my car is maintained to a high standard, and i can trust jobs are done properly.

when i DIY'd... things would fall off

You're right jim, I think its a case of know your limits!

Thankfully mine are at minor maintenance! Everything else and its off to the specialist! (added bonus is he can check the last rubbish you did and fix it!! )
