Default urgent batt/alt help needed!

right comming home tonight and had to pull over to answer phone...

just as i was about to pull over i noticed that the batt light was on very very dimly and flickering, so i gave the car a quick blip of the throttle and it went out and then returned when it came back to idel , again very very dimly!

so drove off as i wanted to get as close to home if the worst was going to happen and nothnig all way home no batt light or anything!

got home and as the car was idling again the batt light started to flicker very very dimly!

does this sound like my alternator is starting to go as it cant charge enought at slow revs!

Sounds to me as if your battery isn't holding a charge properly.

How old is the battery?

When you rev your car with your lights ON, do they get brighter?

If they do, your alternator is working properly, which i'm guessing will happen.

You could get a drop test done on the battery, this will tell you if the batteries cells are ok.

checked the belt and thats fine!

right i checked the voltage with car off, on idle, and on idle with every poss drain turned on!

turned off i got 12.64v
on idle i got 14.08v
every drain on i got 13.70v

that sounds like the batt and alt are both ok dont it?

so the wiring seems to be the prob!

only prob with my wiring is that instead of it being terminals and a nut on them to hold a ring, its a push connector block!

how would i rewire a new cable to one of these?

alternator looks fine, i would say battery too.. as i had something similar to this last week. I got roughly the same voltages as you but it turned out my battery was goosed (3 of my batteries lol).
