is it possible to take a bike test abroad, say cyprus and get a licence over there and bring it back here and have it transferd over? heard its been done before, wana do my bike test, i know how to ride but dont fancy paying xxx amount for a weeks course over here ect. im off to cyprus in july and was thinking i could do my test one day when im out there, heard it was easy out there???

You first need to check which licenses are exchangeable for eu ones, don't know about cyprus, maybe ask a squaddie ?
Or DVLA webby might have info.

I know if you get a car license in Cyprus and bring it back over here its valid for 2 years. Not too sure on bikes could be similar situation?

If only valid for two years that would sugest it is not exchangeable, for UK/EU one.

Is this going to be like in India where the test (so Im told) is drive foward 100M or so stop and turn round and drive back and you've passed.

Remember the test is only £50 or so over here. Plus bike hire for the hour. Theres nothing to say you MUST do a DAS course.

Of course I wonder if you should even own a bike if you arent capable of passing the UK test on UK roads...

I know INDIA do not have a exchange license scheme thank god!!
They can drive for two years then have to either stop or take test etc, my sis in law had to do this as she is indian.

who cares if it lasts 2 years?just do it every other year if youre that shit!!im pretty sure you can do it with a US license as i know someone who passed their test over there then never bother doing it here.

its not cos how hard it is, it cost stupid money over here for a weeks course if you can get booked up that is, cheaper abroad ect init

USA license certainly not useable over here, that is why the FORCES over here from USA are covered by the VISITING FORCES ACT.
In INDIA you can go to aution and buy a license!!, perfectly legal and to use.
Most test examiners take bribes, as wages crap, test sometimes does not happen and is a joke when it does.
Procedure is 1 left turn, 1 right turn, 1 stop then if you are ALIVE you pass.
You can even hit and KILL someone on your test and still PASS, so long as it is not a COW that you hit, as for this you will be shot!!
Cows sitting in the road are not allowed to be moved either, it is anm inprisonable offence.
