ad-aware,spybot search and destroy and ive also had no probs with windows defender (as long as you have a genuine copy of windows.....oh and it keeps tryin to delete all my music theft programs )

yeah, both free, just make sure you hit "update" on both before doing any scans

Use CCleaner after running these to purge unwanted crap from the registry aswell

Not really as long as you leave the advanced section alone, and the prefetch option is deselected by default.

Everyone has to start somewhere.

yeah ive used ccleaner for over a year, easy way of deleting all temp internet files and what not in about 20 seconds depending how long you leave it between scans, awesome little programme
