Default jumping a red light?

whats the penalty? my sis just told me on msn she got caught and when i asked her what she got she said i dont know i just had to fill a form in and send it back within 28 days whats she looking at

EDIT she said she didnt even see the lights had changed whether thats due to her not looking properly etc i dont know

A mate of mine got 6 points and £1000.

Edit to say that was amber turning red!

I believe it to be seen as worse than a speeding offence so minium 3-6 points and some!

3 points & £40 fine is what i got (about 7 years ago)

Oh my god didnt think it would be THAT bad a penalty to be honest but then agian she could have caused an accident i guess

its not just the 3 points and £60 fine, its the fact your insurance frowns on this offence more than a speeding offence. it shows you are a risk taker therefore more likely to have a claim=your insurance premium will go up by usually about 15%

i wasnt paying attention one night and ran a red light.
I had already seen the police sitting at the junction.
Needless to say the pulled me over, at that point I didnt have a clue until they told me.
I explained that I had seen the green man crossing symbol come on and misunderstood that for a green light.
I was told it was a 3 point and £60 fine

Luckily for me they let me off, it certainly made me think about what could of happened if I had an accident

i see cunts around here jumping red lights all the time knowlingly especially at m4 j11 roundabout, and then they block the boxes and jam up the whole roundabout

If she didnt see the light was red isnt that classed as driving with undue care and attention ?!?
