"BBC Worldwide has had exploratory conversations with the US networks to bring a local version of Top Gear to the US, ...."
Nothing bizzare about trying to emulate the show's success in the US, they're not talking of scrapping the UK one....

Why are people calling it a shit idea? Its not like they are stoping UK one and only doing US version.

Good on them, earn BBC some money and themselves! They already branch a bit for the US when talking about cars, as if anyone has watched it in the US Jermery etc says how much the cars are in $ etc

I would think its a great idea and would love to see the US version on say BBC 3 aswell as the norm one on BBC 2

a view I share ! Can't say all are bad but I spent 3 years working for an Amefrcian firm with Yanks at the helm - never again.

Also sounds like the programme may be struggling for some reason ? Lets be honest it's hardly a car programme now, more like a chat show with the odd car lobbed in for good measure. They need to cut down on all the stupid antics and get back to what they started doing - testing and reviewing cars. Sensibly.

Struggling, where the heck did you get that idea from? Read the article and it says the last episode of Top Gear had 10million viewers! the highest number of anyc 2 programme in 10 years

Fair play to doing that but why on earth would they all do that as they all seem to hate American cars and we all know how Jeremy feels about American people
