Get one mate, the engines are great, so long as they are properly looked after

I certainly learnt my lesson. I don't blame the car by any means. Still think it's a fantastic motor.

I bought a golf turbo gti with the same engine and is fine. Only bought it over the Seat due to being a little roomier inside!! Goes well, 150hp as standard but mappable to 190 without a problem. 35mpg on the average run and so far has been 100% reliable for me!! Boring to drive admittedly but its my runabout so not too bothered!

i went out in an ihi conversion ibiza turbo yesterday running approx 350bhp and it was a very quick car the lad had already raced an allegedly 450plus 4x4 cossie and spanked it

 

Very underated cars, proper vw hybrid though... .mk3 golf front end, mk4 polo rear. Handling it total shite though, they love to swap ends

 

If it's the one I'm thinking of (yellow, 52/02 plate), unlikely if its not near Cambridge, it was a 380-ish 4x4
