Who has Sky+ & Who has Sky HD??
Who has one or the other and what do you think? Also are the Sky+ people thinking of upgrading?
Im trying to decide which one to go for
Am i right in saying that if you get Sky+ and go for one of the packages (sports or movies) you dont pay the £10 a month premium?
Is this the same for HD or do you have to pay this aswell as the package (sports or movies) upgrade?
Thanks.

I work for sky, so any questions just fire away, I'll do my best to answer them for ya!
Don't take the mick though, I'm not getting paid to help you's out on here, lol.
Sky+ = awesomeness, really is the muts nuts - BUT - what's better about it now is the Remote Record function - basically the TV Guide on your mobile phone, and you can set your sky+ box to record what you want - from anywhere on the planet!! (if you have signal that is!!)
Sky HD is just unreal. I don't have this yet, but watched a few things on it, and as previoulsy mentioned, the wildlife stuff is crazy. Also football matches are just mega. You really have to see it to believe it!
With either Sky+ or Sky HD you get the £10 charge for recording wiped off if you take either full movies, full sports or full pack. There is an extra £10 charge per month for the HD subscription, but I'm sure at some point that will be waived as well, but don't quote me on that, lol

unfortunately the phone line connection is required
you need to register your box so that when you send the recording request, sky knows what box is yours, where it is etc

The service was supposed to be launched on 3 the other month, but think it got pulled.
Can't remember when it's due to launch again

you will need to inform sky so they can switch on the HD channels for you, they don't just appear on the box when you plug it in.
Curry's etc should arrange for an engineer for normal installs, but if you already have sky+, then you will have the correct LNB on your dish and correct cabling, should just be a case of plugging it in.
Phone sky, tell them you got an HD box, they'll add it to your account and get your card matched up with the new box, and set up your HD signal for you

Got sky + and it's awesome. Plus with movies dont hav the extra £10 charge.
Gotta say am loving it at teh moment, far to much to watch tho....
Pcworld and currys were doing the deal on sky HD when bought with a tv but not many ppl took the deal so they opened up to any customers with any purchase. This was a while ago so not sure what current status is but can find out probably...

I used to have TiVo and it was so much more user friendly than the sky boxes, I wish I still had it.
Not knocking sky, I have HD and I love it, but, there are so many things that could be done to improve the whole thing...

of course its proper HD on the HiDef channels....it is upscaled on the normal SD channels for you though.
The '+' functionality is awesome - even the missus can use it. The hidef is ok but expensive for all I watch in HD (lost, 24, Galactica, Footyball & sport and a few documentaries).
Watching on a true 1080p setup the DVDO VP50 scaler the picture is awesome (110" diag)
