Default Radiator options on s2 erst ???

Hi,

The car went to the garage today for a cylinder head leakage test as I thought the head gasket was on its way out ! It came back showing no signs of leakage which I was relieved about but they commented that the rad was leaking from both sides (which I knew anyway ).

now.........I go on holiday to kos on wednesday so I really need to let the garage know what I want done etc.. They said they can get rads for about £130 but I'm sure I have seen cheaper

Are standard rads copper, if not, is there any difference ?

whats the cheapest alloy rad available ?

anyone know any websites or company that sell rads for a good price ?

any help much appreciated

Duncan

Standard Ford rads are ally cored with plastic end tanks.

I have a Pace rad and have no complaints other than the price.

problem with recored rads sometimes, where they use the origonal plastic
end tanks, they can become brittle, or have problems where the brass inserts
go in. if your end tanks are ok, then a recore should be fine, if not then its worth
getting a new one from your local Ford agent.
best of luck anyway

Some people over here have put a Escort mk5 rad in their S2 as it's a reasonably good fit and a fraction of the price.
