red = 200bhp

green = 300bhp

blue = 400bhp

black = 500+bhp

theyre like those t-shirts you breath on and they change colour... the more power the engine runs, the different colour the cam cover changes

Jim, sorry m8, but what a load of cobblers

Now I hope I've got this right after what I said above
Red = 2wd 3door and saff + early 4x4 without cat.
Green = 4x4 sapph with cat
Blue = Escort

Obviously, some people have them painted so you can't guarantee they are correct. I have seen yellow, black and "chrome" which are not standard if I remember correctly.

Now - someone flame me down...

Frog,

I believe that was Jim's attempt at humour mate

I think you are right on the cam covers though.

As far as I know the major change for unleaded petrol was bronze valve guides BTW Glen

Is there any chance that this would fit onto the 'normal' cossies?

I thought green was for the 'k' platers that had the catalytic con thingy and my mates 4x4 saph has blue!

No
Are you sure

You will need longer spark plug leads to come all the way around the back of the engine (as the small turbo has coils on top of each plug.)
