i am trying to copy an old cd a mate made for me abotu 4 years ago with nero,


it says its creating image for writing? WTF? am i doing it right?

will it wreck the original cd?

No if orignal is not REWRITEABLE (CD-RW) it cannot record over it, so you are safe there, creating image, sounds more like DVD, may have been recorded as DVD ?, would still work perfectly as CD though.
Sorry not too clued up on these compy things, only just found the ON/OFF button!!

If you have 2 drives, you need to select the settings to copy "on the fly" - ie, direct from cd to cd, otherwise it will create a "disc image" and then burn it to disc after.

if you have only one drive, then burning an image is the only way to do it matey

ok mate thats cool will chat to you when im on!


so burning an image is the right way? it wont be damaging this disc thats its 'creating image' for? whats the next stage take this disc out and place in the blank one?

using one drive the procedure is as follows

place source CD in drive
copy to disc image
place destination disc in drive
write disc
