has anyone bought their car back and how much was it ?

does it depend on the value of the car?

Usually its sold back to you for scrap value.

Something like 5% of the value of the car before the accident (i.e what you would have been paid out).

Also the car has be be a certain Cat write off (C or D I think) to enable you to buy it back. If it gets a Cat where it musnt be put back on the road only a registered breakers / scrap yard can buy it.

Ive done it on 2 different renault 5 turbos, both was around 600quid on a 3.5k motor if i remember right

we had an argreed value of the car at 13k got the car back for 7k but then broke it and made 15k in all

i boughth my granada off the insurance company for Ł100
minus the Ł200 excess which i'm claiming back and they gave me a cheque for Ł500 so i was happy

there are 5 catagories now as they have made a cat F for fire damaged vehicles according to the latest hpi report i've got

it's what they are worth to the savalge company

if you get the car bought home and then don't let it go you are much better off
