Default My mates new car!!!!

Its called a rocket and it certainly goes like one

One of my mates builds them. Not many of them about.

The sense of acceleration is unbelievable. It runs a 1.2 ltr yamaha motorbike engine with a 6 speed sequential box.

Nope uses Ford Cortina stuff. Gordon Murray was a big fan

How would it compare to an ATOM? Surely the atom is near half the price? Ł35k maybe?

cool, and at just under 400kg is should go like a bastid!

my yam thundercat 600 with me on it works out to about 350bhp/ton and thats quick lol (about 280kg)



not sure on the pipework for the rad running outside the body tho

just worked out with me (90kg) the bike (180kg) and full tank (15kg) it all adds up to 285kg so its bang on 350bbhp/ton as the bike is 100bhp lol

Yep Yamaha do a 1200. its the xjr1200, also think they do a FJ1200 as well. ive got a xjr1300 sat in my shed waiting to go in a kit car just waiting for the chassis to arrive.

fair play then, i was thinking of the xjr but thought they were 1300 and 1400

ah well, learn summut new every day lol

i also learnt that my thundercat will get to 140mph quite effortlessly, but after that it took ages to get to 145 this morning lol

sposed to do 155ish too
