If that reply was aimed at me then I'm less than impressed! Don't quote eBay ads... Let's have it in your own words... I have given my account of why the AP disc imho IS fully floating (again I will mention radial + axial) now let’s have yours...... waiting!

your disc probably wont have the enough metal in the area's needing machining to make them floating..

Or a slot in the Bell like the Alcon method , insted of the bobbin slotting into the disc it bolts flush to the face and the bell moves .
The term fully floating is normally used to describe the twin bearing type of live axle , salisbury , english etc.. Its just been bastardised by the people that think "fully " means their floating discs are better than others and worth more .

I don't think Tony has cleared it up at all! He merely mentioned that some manufacturers use different methods of creating float.

You have still not explained the differences between the disc mountings on your bike other than one has more play than the other Perhaps one is worn more than the other....

Anyway it's a bttt for the folks who havn't seen what a plonker you are making of yourself over this

Not 355 but here is a fitting guide for floaters

Lay disc face up

Install the float bushes (or bobbins as you call em )

Turn over and fit the screws (and if supplied domed washers - dome up)

Add loctite now (not prior to screwing in)

Torque to 11 - 14Nm

HTH
Nice photo's but no help whatsoever to Mr Franco as the pics show the Brembo system!
Oh this is so yesterday, Martin i wouldnt waste your time!

Cheers for that Nuts!

Martin if you havent worked out what it all means then i feel a little embarrassed to have to tell you...semi floating dont move as much as fully floating note how the fully has more bobbins or whatever you what to call em,allowing more movement?....your AP's may do the same kinda movement radial and axial but are not classed as fully floating touch a fully floater and you will see what i mean...lets just stick to AP's are floating to end it not semi not fully just floating.

...gotta go look for a fresh fish now
