yeh no less then 400hp as long as the heads been done right, so the car is a 93'k then , i dont see a problem with emmissions if you are getting it mapped

If your taking her to Mark at M.A.D for Closed loop fuelling (Presumeably on Autronic management?) then he will be able to do everything you need for the MOT so stop worrying.

technically you need a catalyst fitting (Std 92> Exhaust) but this really neds to come back of to have any reliable power unles you go for teh new generation of performance catalysts and of course you will be having a lambda sensor installed in the downpipe to feed the ecu with closed loop info on fuel mixture.

Hope this helps.

Very nice spec - but with that comp ratio (7.2:1) I would seriousely consider a change of turbo to a T4. The T34 will give you 400-412 BHP absolute MAX (@ 26-28 LBS/PSI)...and it will be working VERY hard to achieve that figure......If you fit a T4 turbo (or a GT Series equivelent) you can then take full advantage of that nice low comp ratio by runuing higher boost safely (32-34 LBS/PSI) and get an "easy" 460 BHP......and to a T4 that 460 BHP will be a "walk in the park"....i.e. fairly unstressed

ALSO - If you ditch the greys and fit 750 - 1000cc MSD intectors you will get nearer to 520-540 BHP with good torque - no problem AND if mapped correctely with closed loop lambda very good emissions/idle behavior.
Ask Mark Shead (NA Developments) for confirmation

as for the t34 thats only going to be on the car while i run the engine then it will be a gt35 turbo
but before this im running the engine in on standard transmission so need to get 3300 grand together for a big tooth kit or else if i have it mapped and setup the gearbox will be like cadburys choclate on a hot summers day
as i used to go through a gearbox al,mmost every month because the place i used to use there gearbox specialist carnt builkd them wont mention any names of that company hey martrs

xr4x4rs,
the problem is because im reshelling the car its going into a k reg xr4x4
how do i sort the cat and emissions out for the mot as the engine came out of a j plate car which didnt have a cat

this is not a problem if the mot station knows the rules !! if you can prove the year of the engine then it wil be tested as per engine manufacturing limits !!

xr4x4rs,
once the car is ran in its going to ma developments for a map and setup maybe a closed loop lambda control aswell as these are the boys ive heard of a lot of

if your on about closed loop emission control on the std ecu for your J plated car then it needs to got 'MSD' motorsport developments for the closed loop control to be mapped in , that way your emmisions will be more than acceptible for your car anyway !!!
