Default Duratec Bluefin

Hi guys and gals

Getting very very bored of my mk3 mondeo 2 litre duratec....

Anyone got bluefin? Been looking at it and it seems to be pretty good. Does anyone else recommed it? And before you ask, no i'm not better off supercharging the thing instead

Do any traders on here do a discount on it?

Thanks all in advance

rich

I wouldnt bother unless you are going to change the cams and port the head.

Otherwise, the only noticable gains will be the person who makes money
from selling you the device.

All in my opinion of course.

I watched Alan at Pumabuild remap a standard ST fiesta ( 2.0 duratec ) from 150bhp to 165 with no mods and to 180 wit a zaust and manifold with his dreamscience software. Saw the before and after runs and mapping with my own eyes

jungleistmassiv,

Sorry wasnt trying to be superior. Just that an extra 10bhp will hardly
be noticable and will probally drink loads of fuel.

they actually do better mpg when done simon and 10 bhp added to a 400 bhp cosworth would not be worth adding, but 10 bhp when you have only 50 is well worth having lol

By the way i'm fairly sure there is a tbg kit that botls straight on from SBD that requires no internal mods at all and comes with t/b's fuel rail etc and webber alpha gold ecu for about Ł1500 that just requires bolting on and makes 200bhp

I have a link somewhere

The Duratec HE is a very capable engine

Do NOT post the link... If you do, I will probably buy the kit, then i will be in a LOT of trouble with the other half

Under the thumb? Me? Never

i'd buy that kit too
and then have to pay for a divorce

is it worth doing all the other small mods first and then go for the sbd thing or will they do the same thing?
how much for one of these 180 bhp exhausts?
how much for mapping to get the extra 15 bhp?

i've got an auto and it's a bit slow

It comes mapped for a standard car but i imagine with a decend exh manifold and some decent cams you'd see over the 200bhp mark comfortably

They have channged it since i looked ( admittedly about 18 months ago ) and now seem to do a much more comprehensive list of things!

I have Bluefin for my ST170 for a week so far and already noticed that it is doing more mileage from a full tank of fuel than before without Bluefin. So it was well worth the purchase for me.

i get around 300 miles to a tank if i'm gentle, on the motorway, which equates to about 31/32 mpg

around town it's shockly bad, at around the 15/16 mpg, but i do do a lot of short trips, probably less than 10 miles a week if i'm honest

a bit more poke wouldn't go amiss so if i can keep it a secret from the mrs
