trying to tax the fookin car

got the little reminder which says pop along to the post office to sort it
but when i get there they won't do it because we've got the wrong insurance documents

fair enough, i can see this was going to turn into a long day already

so i thought i'd do it online

but they want an 11 digit number from the reminder, which doesn't have any digits on it at all

then i tried to call, but this time they wanted a 16 digit number, which the reminder doesn't have either

after the 4th call i threw the phone against the wall where it is scattered on the floor somewhere

to make matters worse, i'm still trying to get the dvla to change a g inot a 9 on the log book, and thats apparently not gone through either, so i can't tax it until it's sorted

why can't someone make life easy

It does seem hard work sometimes when talking to the DVLA there doesn't seem to be many people wanting to help you out.

I almost gave up...!!

BUT

Use the doc reference number on your logbook..

I did, got all the way through, then says no valid insurance... I only got insured yesterday, so no doubt not updated on the database.. fuck sake

DVLA are twats m8 of mine bought a 3dr cossy it said saphire rs cosworth 3dr took about 2 month to put right even when we took the car for dvla to inspect they still got it all wroung log book was given to us saying sierra cosworth 4door all sorted now

the doc reference on the log book works, but you still need that number from the reminder

and they've sent me a form to fill in saying their records are wrong so i might not be able to tax it anyway
