My old man and I are away to look at a supposed Golf TDi 130 this afternoon.....

What year were they brought out??? was it Mk3 or Mk4 body shell???

How do you tell a 130 from a normal golf????

What should we look for - common probs etc???

Any help would be mucho appreciated by you gurus

130 would be a lot better than our 90bhp bad boy

 

dont think they made a 130 bhp on that year but i might be wrong........

 

Been looking all over the internet, And i can only find 90bhp and 100bhp for that year. And for the Golf STDI. I think your right.

Isn't it an SDI, the forerunner to the newer TDi and TDPDi cars.

About 100bhp aren't they.

Even VW aren't daft enough to call a car an STDI (Sexually Transmitted Disease/Infection )

 

FPMSL!!!! 4 grand for an STD, Go to a rough part of liverpool waving a tub of lube and you will get one for free.

 

An SDI is only about 75bhp, No Turbo !!!

Points to look out for

-worn rear axle bushes
-knackered turbos
-knackered AFM
-wheel bearings
-faulty throttle bodies (tho not common)
-Anti roll bar bushes worn
