Default plasma help please, with pics of fault

i have a plasma tv i bought of my mate he had it on for an hour to prove it was working fine,,,, there is no remote he said, so i thought oh never mind i will get one if i have it,,,,,

picture was 100% and he said dont touch the settings as it took him 2
days to sort that out himself,,,

but this is what is going on

when i turn the tv on the dvd brings up poor wrighting on the screen

but if i prees for the settings the picture become's perfect

ive put the performanceford dvd in to show an easy example
where thay have pics it shows them very clear

but as its going to change over in the gallery pics it does this

this what its like when it plays the dvd as you see its 100% perfect

not to sure what the make is but does anyone know what the problem is or come accross it, once it plays a dvd its perfect at most times.

im thinking of sticking it on ebay but not sure how to list it

is it faulty
does it need settings doing
is it just a plasma for computers

Change the signal lead (scart?) and make sure you've only got one thing plugged in to it, just to rule out interference.

But I think it's something worse

i was told if it was something wrong with it, it would be like that all the
time, if it goes like that with a dvd and i go back the last five mins it
it will do the same thing acting just like a faulty dvd and it will only happen on that part all the time,

if it was a fault with the screen or colour it would be doing it all the time

What is bothering me is that it does it when watching TV as well. Kinda rules out the DVD.

Intermittent faults are not uncommon with electrical stuff

Could be your specific DVD player has a problem with connection to that specific Plasma screen.

.Search for,, "whatever screen it is and whatever model your DVD is"

Just read last post, forget the above.

Plasma TVs have lamps which don't last very long and are very expensive to replace. LCD's just don't have the resolution for me, and never look as good as a well constructed CRT.

It seems like an image stabiliser/processing fault to me, maybe a loose zif connector inside the display if it comes and goes.

Have you tried it as JUST a TV without the DVD plugged in, to prove the plasma is O.K?
