Probably best not to mate,
I have an e-mail you sent to the bloke who bought the car off you listing its spec.
Well in the three years I've had the car I've discovered most of it was a load of old pony !
and both the previous owner and I have declared mods on our insurance that the car simply hasnt got.

I cant send the e-mail to you, its a print out of an e-mail you sent to the chap I bought it off.
It stated the car had a paddle clutch
Steve B replaced the clutch on the car when he was at SCC... it was standard.
You claimed BD10 cams
You claimed Ported Head
Northampton Motorsport did the head gasket on the car just before Christmas and found both to be standard.
All things that are impossible to check when buying a car without stripping it, not something you can do on someones drive when viewing a car.
I can look it out and scan it and post it here if you like.

Did you ever consider that my dad was telling the truth and the guy who brought it from my dad told you billy bullshit and modified the e-mail to make my dad seem like the bad guy!
Because i know FOR A FACT!! that my dad would never lie to anybody about anything espically when it comes to cosworth

can i just ask one question ,did you buy the car the very next day after i sold it to mike, how long did he have it ,
as for the bits mentioned
i never would use a paddle clutch,it was a alcon cover with a standard escort clutch plate
the engine did have a pair of bd 10 when i sold it also a mildley polished/ported head
ever considered that the previous owner might have given you a load of old pony, stripped the head off ,sold the cams, and put the blame on me

Here's the e-mail that states the mods to the car.
I apologise it wasnt a paddle clutch it was an Alcon, I knew it was an uprated clutch of some description, but as I am sure Steve B can qualify, the clutch they removed was a standard item.
I take your point that Mike could have robbed the head and bits off it, but if he was going to do that surely he would have taken the T34 and 500 Cooler off as well.... and removed the SECS monitor, and water injection he'd had fitted.
All of which are worth far more than a 'mildly ported head' and a pair of cams.
Also the mail states a new 200 block, but when we had the head off all the bores were linered, I have since been told some of the motorsport blocks come like this as standard but I dont know for sure.
This has pissed me off for a long time now, but I've never said anything about it as I just chalked it up as experience and had you not posted up looking for the car I would have never said anything on here.
The other possibility is that the person who built the engine told you a load of pony and never did the work in the first place, because the head was definitely stock, so you could have been speaking in complete good faith.

hi neil
i dont think andy fisher who i know personally and is a very good friend would have told me any old pony so i know if he said he used bd10s he would have , also the head was ported by blind bob in birmingham who did all the work on andy rouse es heads for the touring cars of the 80s again im sure andy would back this up , ,the block was bought from john wilcox engines i fetched it myself it was brand new he only wanted the internals ,so i know it was brand new ford block ,ive never heard of linered blocks for motorsport so i suppose it might have been who knows again i dont think andy would use a linered block because that was the fault with the 205 block it had a pin hole in number 4 i asked if he would liner it and it was a big no no
hand on heart i wouldent sell anything i couldent back up ,how long did mike have it for
jp
