RS Turbo Track day car...
Ive decided to turn my escort rst into a track day car.
What id like to know is wot are the main things i will need (cage, safety, power, brakes etc)
As we speak i am converting the car over to run on OFAB Managment and fully stripped interior NO DASH!
Also im going to relocated the radiator to sit in the boot right up against the the rear panel.
Let the tips commence!

It works at the front of the engine bay as with the majority of other cars so why move it???
Dashboard wise- why??
Come on- be sensible.
Spend your money on making it safe, reliable, stop properly and go round corners properly.
Then when you've done that- make it go a bit quicker.
Oh
and
Buy a pug

I thought this was a ford website?
The rad is going in the boot because the turbo is to big to fit in beetween the cooler and engine!
Im asking for tips on wot brakes, suspension etc.
The dash is long gone so no need to ask why. Im making my own mini dash/bar ti hold all the new gauges.
Also wots wrong with the 'wow look at that' factor?
Never know could end up in a magazine?
Performance ford or Fast ford
And Peugeots are crap french crap so ill stick with rs thanks

I've long lost interest with RST's so I'm not sure but I know that most turbo's will fit but seriously.. have a proper exhaust manifold made and relocate the turbo over the gearbox as you're doing away with the kjet.
Also if the turbo is that big- u will need to do this anyway simply because the std manfold is only good upto 350horse and if the turbo is that big you will be going for more horses.
Mini dash is cool.
As for Pug being french crap- yeh but having owned just a few fords I am genuinly quite impressed by french crap- and incidently- Ford RS's are just english crap
Best of luck.

Take a standard car and put some uprated pads in it
Bingo - thats you done and sorted until your ready for the next step with a little experience under your belt.
Or spend '000 of ŁŁ on it with a mods list from Max Power, do 1 event and hate it and kick yourself for the next 2 years paying for it all

Not needed for a novice Marco, the pads will do the work for a while
Spend the money on all that sort of stuff later on down the line once your happy, for now use your money to do a few different types of days / circuits first.
No point going round and round the same circuit all your life as when you come to go somewhere else the different corners and cambers etc will show off your true driving skills - or not as in my case

Baz - why not just buy a Ł300 XR3i off Ebay and do the same yourself
Trackdays are not about who has the most power, or most/fanciest mods etc. Your bigger engine would still be running with smaller brakes would it not Potentially even more dangerous.
Until you have a few days under your belt and you are happy that your still going to like it, take a standard car, pop in some pads and go out and have some fun
You ALL could be doing it tomorrow, in the car you go to work in and should not be trying to keep up with the 'Hadlands' right away.
