Default Broad band advice needed.

Hi I was thinking of this deal with Wanadoo.
<
<
<
wanadoo Home lets you:

Set up wireless Internet access - no more messy cable and the computer wherever you want it - even in the garden

Connect two computers - two of you can use the Internet at the same time, one with a wireless connection, the other through cable

Hook up your computer to a games console - two of you can use the Internet at the same time, one with a wireless connection, the other linked to a games console

Connect more than two computers - just buy extra wireless adapters from DSLshop

For £79.99 your Wanadoo Home pack includes:
• 1 x Wanadoo Home
• 1 x Wireless adaptor - to set up one wireless connection. Extra wireless adaptors are available from DSLshop
• 1 x Ethernet cable - to set up one wired connection
• 2 x Broadband microfilters
• 1 x Easy set up guide & installation CD
• 1 x power adaptor

How do I get Wanadoo Home?

Please note that Wanadoo Home will only work with Wanadoo Broadband.

If you do not yet have Wanadoo Broadband...
You will need to sign up for it by clicking on the 'Sign up now' button below. You can buy Wanadoo Home by selecting it as your modem option when signing up.

If you already have Wanadoo Broadband...
You can order Wanadoo Home by calling us on: 0870 010 2462

Do you think the Home pack for £79.99 is a good deal or should I buy the bits myself?

By the way they are charging £17.99 a month for 1MB speed but with a 2 GIG download limit but it doesn't start for a few months.

Dave.

What are you hoping to do with your connection as I have wanadoo?

Im using 2 pc's connected to internet. If thats what you'd like, ditch modem asap. Buy a modem/router (check special offers on www.crystech.co.uk for Origo one that works well for me), need extra microfilters? Couple of quid from your local computer shop NOT PC WORLD. Both my pcs have network, mine network card, other onboard. Run cat5 cabling to router. Plug modem/router to wall (mains and telephone), run any setup program needed, and browse...

I cancelled my package with Freserve / Wannado cos I was sick of constantly having to use back up dial in numbers when the main two were always engaged.

Their broadband service may be better, but it's not the cheapest out there.

Im now signed up to Tiscali Broadband, £14.99 a month, no download limit and never had any problems with the connection or service.

Defo speak to more people already on the package you're looking at before committing yourself.
