Thats a turbo one i think but a friend has a 220 GSI, 2.0 150bhp, seems to go pretty well, and i like the look of them

I dout id ever buy a rover but just wondered what the general thought was and from people who owned/drove one

Rover's (if you get the right one) are suprisingly good to drive, obviously not a proper enthusiasts car or drivers car as it were but go well, quite responsive and can be a good laugh!

I like the Coupe Turbo's too

I think aswell you dont see many nice ones like that on the roads, but you see plenty of grandad 1.4-1.6's etc smoking around

My mate had the 216 for a good few years and he still says its the car that put the biggest smile on his out of all the ones he's owned (inc. Impreza's, Evo's and a few Fords).

Not bad looking and go reasonably well.

Cheers

K series engine yes Tseries which was 2lt nasp[150bhp]/Turbo[197bhp] not really the standard gasket can weep, can be sorted with kilinger gasket though for about Ł30.

I owned a GSi Turbo Hatch and must admit was good fun, even though mine was a bit of a shed. Engine pretty good and theres a few running 400bhp+ and even a couple that are 650bhp built by AN racing[totb meastro], and GBE do alot of stuff for them.

I like them tbh although supposed to be 197bhp standard i have never seen one make that normally around 180-190bhp but 250bhp can be had with T28 off Pulsar/200sx, De-cat and exhaust, and a Better down pipe. The Battery really needs moving to the boot so you can put the filter in a better place. Handle lots better than everyone said they did Lsd as standard and suspension not that much different to alot of Honda's.

Cheap cars now.

He just did, combination of things I suppose. The 216 was a Honda unit, not Rover so it was a revvy little thing, went well.

Cheers

I had a 216 coupe, was a really nice car to drive and suprisingly quick, it revved forever, but been told the honda engine's do.....had nothing but problems after a few months with headgasket probs, turned out to be a cracked block, put a new engine in, and the headgasket went on that too, i got rid
