Default just had my remote key wiped!!!

Hi guys and gals

Rolled up to work this morning, parked next to an escort cosworth that has a clifford alarm with that buzzer that goes off if you get too close to it.

Pushed the lock button on my keyfob to lock it, then pushed it again to deadlock it and nothing happened. Just as i pushed it a second time, the cosworth's proximitity sensor thing chirped at me!!

Now my remote control will not work at all, will not unlock, will not operate remote boot release or anything It does unlock with the key though. I havent yet tried it in the ignition but I hope it hasn't wiped out all the PATS from the key aswell!!!

Car is a Y reg new shape mondeo.

Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Rich

can you do that programming thingy with it ( turn the ignition on and off a few times quickly then press a button when you get a beep or summat) i think that reprogrammes it.

Cycle your key between pos I and pos II 6 times quickly, you'll hear a beep, then press the lock button on your fob. That should reprogram it.

Btw, you dont know anyone who wants to buy a smooth boot panel do you?!!

well, jumped in the car tonight, and put my stereo's faceplate in, and the stereo was completey dead

Unplugged it from the back, checked i'm getting a good voltage at teh switched and permanent feeds (which i was), and plugged it back in again, and it worked

I bought this car to replace my last unreliable one and have no end of spooky things happen to it

Same thing happened with my works van (56plate Transit Connect) Was in a petrol station, pressed mine and the fella next to me must have pressed his at same time or a micro second before. My key got wiped and wouldn't work at all.

Took it to Fords, 15mins later they gave me it back working, no charge
