Default ****Computer peeps - Internet issues!****

Morning all,

I have set up a Netgear wireless router, which is connected via cable to a PC, and a laptop connects wirelessly. Now the internet works fine on both of them, BUT.......

On the PC (XP) there are more than one user (5 in fact), the internet only works with the user that I set the thing up on, the other users' internet won't work as it seems to try and use the old broadband conenction, even though the network indicator thingy down the bottom shows as being connected to the router.

Any thoughts as to how I can set it up so that all teh users on the PC can have access, or is it something on teh router that I need to do?

Thanks in advnace

Dave

Sounds like an authority issue, you will need to give full permissions to other users or it could be that the other users are still looking at the wrong path to connecting to the internet, in which case try running through the internet setup wizard bit. hope this helps.

m4cK Thanks for that, I am hoping that it is authority issues, but where would I find these settings?

The connection settings for all users seem to be the old Tiscali settings, but the PC just picks the internet up from the router without any signing on / connecting, just click on internet explorer and away we go

YOu need to log in to the PC Admin account (master account) and allow the settings to be used for all users on the PC

I recon you will get away with uninstalling your old internet software/settings and running internet connection wizard or another way is to go in manually through Internet explorer-tools-Internet settings-connections-setup, once you in the wizard you want to click on - "connect to the internet" - "setup my connection manually" - Connect using a broadband connection that is always on" - finish. give that a bash

Im guessing you dont want to go through making everyone else administrators on the computer so i would suggest trying that first.
