I recon you will get away with uninstalling your old internet software/settings and running internet connection wizard or another way is to go in manually through Internet explorer-tools-Internet settings-connections-setup, once you in the wizard you want to click on - "connect to the internet" - "setup my connection manually" - Connect using a broadband connection that is always on" - finish. give that a bash
