Default Xbox360 problem - Please read

For all you 360 owners, as you may know the 360 suffers from running too hot. Recently my 360 has been crashing alot and I thought id need to get it replaced. It was stood upright (better cooling IMO) but sandwiched between by Tv and PS2.

For the last 3 days Its been stood upright in a open space and It was noticable that it didnt crash as much (twice in 3days). You can buy 'intercoolers' that clip onto the back and they are ment to be the dogs danglies at solving this problem - Although they are NOT an offical Xbox product. There about £15 from places like GameStation or Play.com

Anyone else noticed this or bought an intercooler for there 360?

I've had my 360 for absolute ages now and it is boxed in next to other bits and pieces the back is virtually against the wall and it is left on for days at a time and i've never ever had any problems whatsoever and it is standing up

I'm thinking you just have a dud of a machine as you couldn't get more enclosed in than mine it has a mini fridge bang next to it running all the time and dvd, video, sky stacked up next to it and all in a cabinet so no air goes near it... can you not send it in for warrenty repair?

I had problems with my one freezing and got so bad that it wouldnt even fire up! Just kept on getting the dreaded 3 red lights

I bought it off ebay over a year ago and had no receipt or guarantee but thought i would try Microsoft and see what they said about it.....had it collected from me on 15th Dec and was taken away for repair and got a new console delivered back to me on Wed

Proper chuffed to get it sorted for fook all

I also bought a cooling fan for mine and always have it laid flat and kept well ventilated, heard a rumour that it was something to do with the first batch of consoles that were made had something dodgy fitted inside them from a cheap supplier that isnt up to standard and Microsoft changed the part for a better quality one and so far i think the newer batch of consoles have been trouble free.
